Colombian fashion designer Agustín Nicolás Rivero of the internationally recognized band A NEW CROSS collaborates with textile artist Laura Renée Maier in a collection of wearable art pieces.
The series of collaborative works integrates traditional artisanal techniques with contemporary art and fashion in a commentary on the necessity of ancestral knowledge in a time of displacement and disconnection of integral relations between humans and the natural environment.
The textile works by Laura Renée stitched in white thread on black fabrics are an inversion of expected color themes with the intention to illustrate an alternate or parallel reality that has yet to exist.
